Mona Sparling Building

Mona Sparling, an original member of the Museum Society, spearheaded the fundraising which raised $13,000 of the $48,000 dollars needed to build this building.  The rest of the money was provided by the City, County and Provincial grants.

Mona came to Camrose in 1958 to retire but redefined retirement in her unique way.  She helped to shape our community to the way we know it now.  She was the 1st female elected to City Council in 1962, 1st Alderman to hold the position of President of the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association, and the 1st Chair of Preventive Social Services.

This building houses various machinery and wagons.  This building is full to the rafters and so is the RCMP building.
