The Camrose Canadian

This building is a replica of the original newspaper office in Camrose.  It houses a linotype and a printing press (both still in good working condition), in addition to many other original artifacts.  Storage is located upstairs and has limited access (must be accompanied by a museum member or staff person).

On August 02 at 2 pm in 1992 the Mail/Canadian was officially opened.  The building was started in 1991, spearheaded by Cliff Giles who was a long-term employee of the Canadian.  Built by volunteers, the funding came from the Community Tourism Action Program set up from Alberta Lotteries fund ($12,000) and $2,000 from the City Recreation grant.
