The Camrose & District Centennial Museum currently has nearly 15,000 artifacts in its paper & photos collection. Photos, newspapers, books, documents, family histories, Camrose business histories and Camrose business artifacts range in age from the late 1800’s to the 1980’s. Over the past year, the museum has been working to bring this important collection up to current preservation and storage standards.

This has been made possible in part through funding from the Alberta Museums Association in the amount of $12,000, in addition to hundreds of hours of volunteer and staff time. The museum would like to gratefully acknowledge the Alberta Museums Association as well as the volunteers for making this project possible. Through this support, the museum is better able to preserve the history of Camrose for present and future generations.

In addition, the newly stored and organized paper & photos collection will provide more accessible learning and research opportunities to the public.
